Hosts China surprised Sweden by beating them 2-1 in the women's football tournament. The first goal was scored by a sixth-minute strike by Xu Yuan.

 

Sweden managed to equalise through Lotta Schelin in the 38th minute 

 

However the winning goal was scored by Han Duan's winner which was produced by a long range short from substitute Wang Dandan that the Sweden’s keeper missed. The ball then fell into the legs of Han Duan. A crowd of 38,000 fans cheered and celebrated this goal at the 72nd minute of the game.

Han has struck her 101st international goal in 160 matches.
