Marika Domanski-Lyfors is a woman that has made vital remarkable successes in football management and she has contributed a lot in the history of womens football. Born on May the 17th, 1960, she is probably right now on record as the highest paid Female Head Coach gearing the China's Steel Roses hopefully to a successful victory in the FIFA Womens World Cup 2007. She arrived at Beijing Airport on the 18th of April and flew straight to Wuhan to restart her coaching career and has since then never looked back.
Having taken over recently as the new Head Coach of China Female Football team she has already had remarkable results, recording 4 victories and one draw in international friendly matches. The best offset was against Korea which displayed a mixture of excellent dribbling skills and playing technique on the field from both teams. According to papers her package deal is worth more than $500,000 and it is anticipated that she will be working with Chinas Womens football team until 2008.

Career History
Now I am going to have to touch on this womans career in as much detail as possible because she is a complete role model to the young generation of footballers coming on the scene. As a female coach, I will rank Marika alongside the great coach Tina Theune-Meyer of Germany. Marika has enjoyed an exceptional playing career between 1971 and 1988.
As a player, she played for Nödinge SK, Surte IS and GAIS, won 2 championships and 3 Swedish Cups in the 1980s during a winning reign at Jitex BK. Marika Marika Domanski-Lyfors(47yrs) started are coaching career with Sweden in 1991.
     * Nödinge SK 1971-1974
    * Surte IS 1975-1979
    * Jitex BK 1980-1985
    * GAIS 1986-1988
    * SM-guld: 1981, 1984
    * Svenska Cupen: 1981, 1982, 1984.
At only 28years of age, she took over as coach of Tyresö FF and was appointed Sweden Under-20 coach in 1991. A year later she was promoted to assist Simonsson, while remaining in charge of Tyresö until 1993.She ended her coaching career for Sweden in 2005 after extra-time semi-final defeat by Norway at UEFA WOMEN'S EURO 2005. Her side also lost the 2001 European final, 2003 World Cup final and the 2004 Olympic semi-final to Germany. This could have contributed to frustration and her eventual resignation. I happened to watch the match between Norway and Germany and unfortunately my money was on Germany because I knew Tina's capability and football management credibility. It was the the worlds two greatest female football coaches fighting in a head to head battle with their teams and I must say I had a lot of sympathy for this great Woman.
I strongly believe she can achieve now what she would have loved to achieve with Sweden with China in September 2007 now that Tina has retired into the background.
